In June 1979, a major exhibition, intended to travel thereafter, will be inaugurated at the Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels. The details of its contents are unknown to Hergé, but its designers explained to him that it would involve juxtaposing the mythical objects collected by Tintin over the course of his adventures with the real objects that inspired them. On the exhibition poster, Hergé attempts to stage his main characters’ incursion right in the middle of an imaginary installation sure to drive all collectors mad with envy.
