Tintinimaginatio
In June 1979, a major exhibition, intended to travel afterward, will be inaugurated at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels. The details of its contents elude Hergé, but its designers explained to him that it would involve juxtaposing the mythical objects collected by Tintin over the course of his adventures with the real objects that inspired them. On the exhibition poster, Hergé attempts to organize the incursion of his principal characters right in the middle of an imaginary installation likely to drive all collectors mad with jealousy. Excerpt: Chronology of a Work – Volume 7 Characters and objects created based on the exhibition’s original poster, 1979, The Imaginary Museum of Tintin.
