This eighth volume of the Feuilleton intégral reprints the “Petit Vingtième” version of King Ottokar’s Sceptre, as well as new Exploits of Quick and Flupke and numerous covers and extremely rare documents. It also features the beginning of Jo et Zette au pays du Maharadjah, as it appeared in Coeurs Vaillants, the magnificent advertising pages for Drops candies, and a few gags from the inimitable Monsieur Bellum. Despite increasingly grim current events, Hergé continues to work at an incredibly sustained pace. But the war, which begins on September 1, 1939, immediately disrupts the production of the new Tintin adventure, The Land of Black Gold. On May 10, 1940, the entry of German troops into Belgium brings an end to the existence of Le Petit Vingtième.
