In The Broken Ear (plate 27, panel B3), Alonzo Perez is revealed to be the brains of the criminal duo he forms with Ramon Bada, his clumsy accomplice. Behind the facade of his peaceful villa named “Ray of Sunshine,” this engineer hides dark designs: to steal the Arumbaya fetish in order to seize the diamond it contains. As discreet as Bada is flamboyant, Perez nonetheless displays the same criminal tenacity… inevitably foiled by Tintin. In the likeness of the main characters from The Adventures of Tintin, the 12 cm figurines are crafted with respect for the details of Hergé’s drawings.
